When I wrote “Echoes of an Ancient Song,” it started as a love song. I imagined love as a universal, ancient melody—something everyone who’s come before us has experienced and something we all carry forward. But as I explored the imagery and themes, I realized the song was not just about love; it was about the richness of culture and tradition, the lessons we inherit, and the responsibility we have to pass them on. It’s a reminder that we are all part of a larger story—one that connects us to the past and guides us in the future.

The inspiration came during a walk under a bright full moon in Stockholm, Sweden. My dad looked up and called it the “midnight sun.” I’d never heard the moon described that way before, and the phrase stuck with me. By the time we got to the apartment, I had already written the first verse in my head, and by morning, the entire song was finished. It felt like the song had been waiting for me, as if it were an “ancient song” itself, just waiting to be rediscovered.
What makes this song so special to me is how it incorporates global elements—not just in the lyrics but in the music itself. I used instruments from China, Bolivia, and Nigeria, the album cover and other social assets were taken in Japan, and I even added birdsong to immerse listeners in the song’s world. My hope is that this song inspires people to reflect on the traditions, cultures, and stories that have shaped them and encourages them to carry those legacies forward. After all, the echoes of those who came before us guide us to become who we’re meant to be. So… will you join in the lullaby?
