The Little Mermaid meets World Indie Pop in “Oceanic Witch,” a haunting, empowering song about ambition, sacrifice, and fighting to reclaim your voice.

When I wrote ‘Oceanic Witch,’ I wanted it to be both a warning and an empowering anthem for anyone fighting to reclaim their voice and take back control of their life.

Ariel made a deal with Ursula to walk on land and fall in love, but in doing so, the ‘Oceanic Witch’ took her voice. Similarly, artists who sign record deals often believe their dreams are about to come true, but they don’t always realize the fine print. Many end up losing control over their music, image, and even their lives. For me, music is such a personal extension of who I am. The idea of someone else censoring or restricting what I create feels devastating—and my heart breaks for those living that reality.

With ‘Oceanic Witch,’ I not only wanted to warn against the cost of wishes and shortcuts but also to encourage people to reclaim their voices. It asks the question: Is losing who you are really worth achieving your greatest desires? And if it is, is it even still the same dream?
